Caribbean Accreditation Authority for Education in Medicine and Other Health Professions

❗CAAM-HP Advisory – False claim re face-to-face teaching and accreditation status

CAAM-HP has become aware that some medical schools in the Caribbean which it has accredited are misleading students and other stakeholders with false information about the conditions attached to their accreditation status. The reports are that some schools are making it mandatory for students to return to their campus location for face-to-face teaching and are claiming that their refusal to do so will affect the school’s accreditation status.

CAAM-HP wishes to make it clear that it has attached no such condition to the accreditation status of any medical school under its remit. The Authority will continue to investigate the matter and is warning schools guilty of this unethical move to cease making this false claim. CAAM-HP further warns that such action can be used against a school when a redetermination of accreditation is being considered by the Authority.
