Due to the challenges arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic, actual site visits have been suspended.
A note on Candidacy
Candidacy is the status granted to new programmes which the Authority reviews from the initial
phase of development of the programme (New and Developing Schools). Candidacy is not
accreditation and does not guarantee eventual
accreditation. Candidacy merely indicates that a school has met the minimum standards to begin
Schools in this category are monitored on an annual basis.

The MD programme at Caribbean School of Medical Sciences Jamaica (CSMSJ) is being reviewed for provisional accreditation.
Application from Metropolitan University College of Medicine (MUCM) for provisional accreditation received and reviewed. Site visit pending.
The MD programme at Queen’s University College of Medicine (QUCOM) is being reviewed for Candidacy.
St Kitts & Nevis
The Universal Caribbean University School of Medicine in St Kitts is being reviewed by CAAM-HP for Candidacy. CAAM-HP is awaiting submission of additional documentation.
British Virgin Islands
CAAM-HP is awaiting submission of appropriate documentation.
The Western Atlantic University School of Medicine (WAUSM) is being established in The Bahamas. CAAM-HP accorded Candidacy status in January 2021 following a review of the submission from the principals.
